Every Day is an Adventure 13

stress-543658_960_720Today is the third day running that I have had an assaulting headache sapping my motivation and willingness to be a part of the waking world.  K2 tells me that it is a migraine, but I hesitate to call it that.  I’ve always thought of migraines as lock yourself in a dark, quiet room or your head will explode type deals.  I can at least be somewhat functional with a healthy dose of ibuprofen, so I think it’s just a really bad headache(but I’m beginning to come around to her point of view)

I’m confident that many of our readers will relate to this next bit of information.  When you are a stay at home mom/dad, there are no sick days.  Couple that with the responsibilities that I have as a foster dog dad and we have ourselves a cruel, unrelenting perfect storm of pain!  This alone would be enough to make me want to hide in a closet and take a 3-day nap, but on top of everything else, the ninja turtle pups have very upset stomachs due to their worming medication.  So I had to relocate them downstairs yesterday to keep up with the mess.

Needless to say, it’s been a rough couple of days!  Thankfully, K2 took the reigns last night and let me get some much-needed rest.  I’m also incredibly lucky to have such a cool kid.  She helps me so much just being herself, keeping Frederico da Ebonicci aka Freddy (the foster cat) company, making sure the puppies are ok, alerting me to “messes”, and helping wherever else she can.

Even with a broken brain that really makes it difficult to concentrate, I still find myself being thankful for everything we have in our lives.  It can be a pain to save/foster all of these animals, but in the long run, the good outweighs the bad by a long shot.

P.S.  If anyone has some natural remedies for terrible headaches, please let me know, I’m willing to try, pretty much, anything as long as it’s not meat based.(I’m mostly vegan…damn you cheese!)
